Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SIA (Security Industry Authority) licensed Security Guard to join our team in Vallejo, CA. This is a static post position responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for FedEx personnel, assets, and property. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a proactive approach to security. You will be a crucial part of our operational security, ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures, and responding effectively to any security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, and promptly report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials for all visitors, contractors, and employees.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances, taking appropriate action as per company protocols.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and incidents.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures consistently and professionally.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors while maintaining a visible security presence.
- Administer first aid or emergency response as required, coordinating with emergency services.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary to address security concerns.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA License (Door Supervisor or Security Guard)
- Proven experience in a static security role, preferably within a logistics or corporate environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and security software
- Ability to complete detailed incident reports
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Previous experience with access control systems and CCTV monitoring
- Experience in a logistics or supply chain security role
- Advanced de-escalation training
