Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to join our team in Elk Grove, CA. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong aptitude for financial analysis and a demonstrated proficiency in advanced Excel functions. You will play a crucial part in supporting our financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities, contributing to strategic decision-making within the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex financial models and spreadsheets using advanced Excel features (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, conditional formatting, data validation).
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for deviations from budget/forecast.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and insights.
- Prepare presentations and summaries of financial results for management.
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for financial processes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (demonstrated ability with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Familiarity with financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of VBA for Excel automation.
- CFA candidacy or interest in pursuing professional certifications.
