Job Description
Are you passionate about engaging with teens and facilitating dynamic online experiences? Discovery Education is seeking an enthusiastic and charismatic Online Virtual Host to lead webinars and virtual events specifically designed for 15-year-old teens. In this remote, part-time role, you will be the face of our online programs, responsible for creating an interactive, educational, and fun environment. You’ll facilitate discussions, manage live Q&A sessions, and ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all participants. This is a fantastic opportunity to impact young minds from the comfort of your home.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and interactive live online webinars and virtual events for 15-year-old teens.
- Manage virtual event platforms, including moderating chat, polls, and Q&A sessions.
- Prepare and deliver pre-approved content in an engaging and accessible manner.
- Ensure a positive, inclusive, and safe online environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with content creators and program managers to understand event objectives and materials.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues during live sessions or escalate as needed.
- Collect and provide feedback on event effectiveness and participant engagement.
- Maintain a professional and energetic demeanor during all online interactions.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong ability to engage and connect with a teenage audience (ages 14-16).
- Proficiency with virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional home office setup.
- Ability to think on your feet and respond to live audience interactions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic technical troubleshooting abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, youth group leadership, or public speaking.
- Familiarity with educational content or digital learning environments.
- Degree or coursework in Education, Communications, Media, or related fields.
- Experience creating a positive and inclusive environment for diverse groups.
