Job Description
Join Aramark’s dynamic catering team as a Part-time High School Catering Prep, focusing on weekend events. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible, event-based work. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of high school events, from sports banquets to special school functions. This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing excellent service. Prior experience is a plus, but we are willing to train enthusiastic candidates eager to learn and contribute to a vibrant team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and safety standards.
- Set up catering displays, buffets, and serving stations neatly and attractively.
- Transport food, beverages, and equipment to event locations within the high school campus.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, serving areas, and equipment before, during, and after events.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Break down event setups and assist with post-event cleanup.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and event staff to ensure a seamless experience.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, especially for weekend shifts.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety principles.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Punctual and dependable attendance for scheduled events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, food service, or a related field is a plus.
- Current Food Handler's Permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent (students welcome to apply).
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
