Job Description

Voyageur Transportation Services is seeking dedicated Patient Transport Aides for non-emergency medical transport in Markham, Ontario. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive, full training to equip you with all the necessary skills and certifications to excel in this vital role. As a Patient Transport Aide, you will be responsible for safely and comfortably transporting patients to and from medical facilities, ensuring their well-being throughout the journey. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are physically fit, possess strong communication skills, and are committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and courteously transport patients to and from medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, and other facilities.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and vehicles, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport vehicles and equipment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, and medical staff.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and patient privacy regulations (HIPAA/PHIPA).
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout the transport process.
Required Skills
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver patients and equipment.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to complete full training provided by the company.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a customer service or patient-facing role.
- Knowledge of local geography and road networks in Markham and surrounding areas.
