Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmaceutical Lab Tech with a dedicated focus on clinical trials to join our team in Wichita, Kansas. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting our clinical research initiatives by performing a wide array of laboratory procedures, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of samples and data. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute directly to the advancement of new pharmaceutical treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory tests and analyses on biological samples collected during clinical trials, strictly adhering to study protocols and SOPs.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and automated analyzers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
- Accurately record, document, and manage all experimental data, ensuring traceability and integrity for clinical trial submissions.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and media according to established formulations and quality control standards.
- Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, placing orders as needed to prevent disruptions in workflow.
- Ensure strict compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), GCP (Good Clinical Practice), CLIA, and all relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations of laboratory procedures.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and assays, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical research coordinators, study managers, and other lab personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, following all health and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical or pharmaceutical laboratory setting, with a significant focus on clinical trials.
- Proficiency in performing a variety of laboratory techniques, including pipetting, sample processing, and analytical testing.
- Strong understanding of GLP and GCP regulations.
- Excellent data documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot common laboratory equipment and assay issues.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- ASCP certification or equivalent.
- Experience with specific analytical platforms relevant to clinical trials (e.g., mass spectrometry, flow cytometry).
- Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
- Experience in a CAP-accredited or CLIA-certified laboratory.
