Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of experienced Linemen to learn and assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical lines and equipment.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of power outages and service interruptions, often in challenging weather conditions and during irregular hours.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical equipment and infrastructure to identify potential issues.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to advance skills and knowledge in the utility industry.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License; ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within a specified timeframe.
- Ability to work at heights, climb poles, and lift heavy objects.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and respond to emergencies outside of regular hours.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized pre-apprentice lineman program or vocational training in electrical technology.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor labor.
- Basic knowledge of electrical principles and safety.
- Current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
