Job Description
Are you meticulous, tech-savvy, and passionate about presenting engaging online content? Future plc is seeking a dedicated Remote Blog Formatting Aide to join our dynamic editorial team. In this 100% remote role, you will play a crucial part in preparing our diverse blog content for publication, ensuring it is visually appealing, SEO-friendly, and consistent with our brand guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an eye for detail and a desire to contribute to a leading media organization from the comfort of their home.
Key Responsibilities
- Format blog posts in our Content Management System (CMS), ensuring correct use of headings, paragraphs, lists, and other structural elements.
- Embed images, videos, and other media according to editorial guidelines and optimize for web performance.
- Apply SEO best practices, including proper alt-text for images and internal linking, under guidance from content editors.
- Proofread content for formatting errors, broken links, and minor grammatical inconsistencies before publication.
- Collaborate with content creators and editors to ensure timely and accurate publication schedules.
- Maintain consistency in formatting across all assigned blog channels and brands.
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual consistency.
- Proficiency with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot, custom CMS).
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS for web content formatting.
- Familiarity with SEO principles, particularly as they relate to on-page formatting.
- Strong written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a content formatting, web publishing, or editorial assistant role.
- Knowledge of image optimization techniques for web.
- Familiarity with AP style or other major style guides.
- Basic graphic design skills or experience with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop).
