Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Second Hand Goods Sorter in our Plymouth sorting centre. This is an accessible role in a friendly charity environment, perfect for someone looking to contribute to a great cause with immediate start. You will be responsible for processing donations, ensuring they are sorted efficiently and prepared for sale in our shops or for recycling. No prior experience is necessary; full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry-level opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload donated goods with care.
  • Sort various items including clothing, books, homeware, and electronics.
  • Assess items for quality, condition, and suitability for sale.
  • Categorise goods effectively for onward distribution.
  • Maintain a clean and organised sorting area.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers and staff to achieve daily targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate lifting (within safe limits).
