Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart a rewarding career in an active, hands-on environment? FASTSIGNS Chula Vista is seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Signage Installer Helper to join our dynamic team. This is an entry-level position – no prior experience is required! If you enjoy working outdoors, have a strong work ethic, and are comfortable with physical tasks, we want to hear from you. You’ll work alongside experienced installers, learning the ropes of sign installation, from preparing sites to assisting with the safe and efficient mounting of various types of signs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable skills and grow within the visual communications industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the transportation, staging, and installation of various types of signage (e.g., wall signs, monument signs, vehicle graphics, banners, etc.)
- Prepare installation sites by cleaning, measuring, and marking areas as directed
- Help with the safe handling, loading, and unloading of signs and installation equipment
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Perform general clean-up of work sites after installation is complete
- Learn and adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines
- Provide support for sign fabrication and assembly in the workshop when not on installation sites
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and tool inventory
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients on-site
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks repeatedly
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
- Basic mechanical aptitude or comfort using hand tools
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in any outdoor labor, construction, or general maintenance role
- Familiarity with basic safety practices for working at heights or with tools
