Job Description
Are you a motivated nursing student looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a leading healthcare system? Kaiser Permanente in Concord, CA, is seeking dedicated Student Nurse Associates to join our dynamic team. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist in providing patient care, enhancing your skills, and building a strong foundation for your nursing career. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Registered Nurses with direct patient care activities, including vital signs, personal hygiene, and mobility.
- Document observations, patient data, and care provided accurately in electronic health records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment.
- Support patient comfort and emotional well-being.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Perform basic medical procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Adhere to all Kaiser Permanente policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Participate in unit activities and continuous learning opportunities.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical rotation in a nursing program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Basic computer proficiency for charting and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of fundamentals of nursing course.
- Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
- Strong academic performance (e.g., GPA of 3.0 or higher).
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
