Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Studio Recording Engineer to join our dynamic team for night shifts at our state-of-the-art recording facility in Brooklyn. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest audio quality standards and supporting artists during critical recording and mixing sessions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with top-tier studio equipment, a keen ear for detail, and the ability to work independently during off-peak hours. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a wide range of top-tier audio recording, mixing, and mastering equipment.
  • Set up microphones, monitor levels, and manage signal flow for recording sessions.
  • Assist artists and producers during recording sessions, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with studio equipment promptly.
  • Ensure all recording sessions adhere to Atlantic Records' quality and technical standards.
  • Archive and manage session files and project data systematically.
  • Collaborate with producers and artists to achieve desired sonic outcomes.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of studio gear.
  • Work exclusively during night shifts, ensuring studio readiness and operational excellence.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a recording engineer in a studio setting.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live).
  • Expertise in operating large-format mixing consoles and outboard gear.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and audio theory.
  • Excellent ear for detail, sound quality, and musicality.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical technical decisions during unsupervised night shifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with artists and producers.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and maintain studio equipment.
  • Flexibility to work consistent night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Pro Tools or other relevant software.
  • Experience with analog tape recording techniques.
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous work with diverse musical genres.
  • Familiarity with network audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB).
