Job Description
Join our team as a Surf Shop Assistant for casual day work! While Montreal isn’t traditionally coastal, our store embraces the spirit of water sports and outdoor adventure, offering a selection of surf, paddleboard, and related lifestyle products. This role is perfect for an energetic individual who loves the water and thrives in a dynamic retail environment. You’ll assist customers, manage inventory, and help maintain the inviting atmosphere of our surf-inspired section.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with product inquiries, offering expert advice on surf, paddleboard, and water sports gear.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including merchandising new arrivals.
- Handle inventory tasks such as receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and conducting regular counts.
- Educate customers on product features, benefits, and proper usage for water sports equipment.
- Assist with equipment rentals, bookings, and returns if applicable.
- Ensure a positive shopping experience by providing outstanding customer service.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for POS systems and inventory management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift and move merchandise (up to 20 kg).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience, especially in sporting goods.
- A passion for surf, paddleboarding, or other water sports.
- Knowledge of surf brands, equipment, and accessories.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset.
