Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior Music Publicist to join our dynamic Public Relations team in Rochester, MN. This entry-level role is perfect for an individual with a strong understanding of the music industry, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for social media trends. You will support senior publicists in developing and executing PR campaigns for a diverse roster of musical artists, labels, and festivals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of PR strategies and campaigns for music clients.
- Draft press releases, media alerts, pitches, and other promotional materials.
- Conduct media outreach, building and maintaining relationships with music journalists, bloggers, and influencers across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Monitor media coverage and compile comprehensive press reports.
- Manage and update media lists, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Support social media content creation and scheduling, aligning with client PR objectives.
- Analyze social media performance and provide insights for optimization.
- Assist in organizing and executing promotional events, interviews, and photo shoots.
- Research industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging artists to inform strategy.
- Provide administrative support to the PR team as needed.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Music Business, or a related field.
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of the music industry across various genres.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their application in PR/marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship experience in PR, music marketing, or social media management.
