Job Description
Are you an experienced and enthusiastic CDL holder with a passion for the great outdoors? Xanterra Travel Collection is seeking dedicated Tour Bus Operators to lead immersive journeys through America’s most iconic National Parks. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tour buses across diverse terrains and weather conditions, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all systems are in optimal working order.
- Provide engaging, informative, and entertaining commentary about the natural history, geology, wildlife, and cultural significance of National Parks.
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and luggage handling, ensuring a high level of customer service and comfort.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior throughout tours.
- Manage passenger manifests, schedules, and tour itineraries efficiently.
- Respond professionally to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with tour guides and other staff to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating tour buses or motor coaches, especially in mountainous or rural terrain.
- Familiarity with National Parks and their unique ecosystems.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong navigational skills and ability to adapt to changing routes.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
