Job Description
J.B. Hunt is seeking dedicated and skilled Tractor Trailer Operators for regional routes based out of our Jacksonville, Florida hub. Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combinations safely and efficiently on regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Secure cargo properly according to company and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all necessary delivery and vehicle paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Represent J.B. Hunt professionally at all times while on the road and at customer sites.
- Manage delivery schedules and routes efficiently to meet service commitments.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and initiatives.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance
- Proficiency in operating Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with specific freight types or equipment (e.g., dry van, refrigerated)
- Familiarity with regional routes throughout the Southeastern U.S.
