Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Trailer Loader to join our afternoon shift team at the Pasco Distribution Center. This crucial role involves safely and effectively loading trailers with merchandise for outbound shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to our operational success and customer satisfaction. This position offers consistent hours, with no weekend shifts, allowing for a predictable work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load merchandise onto trailers according to established procedures.
- Verify product accuracy and quantity against shipping documents.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts or pallet jacks, if certified, to move and stage products.
- Ensure proper weight distribution and securement of loads to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, participating in safety briefings and initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding loading schedules and issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations and team goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reading labels and verifying quantities.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping processes.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, committed to working the full afternoon shift schedule.
- Ability to work the afternoon shift, typically starting between 1 PM – 3 PM and ending between 9 PM – 11 PM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or loading/unloading role.
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklift, electric pallet jack) with current certification.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
