Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and organized Cellar Storage Planner with a strong focus on racks and bins management to join our local Chula Vista team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for optimizing the layout and utilization of our cellar storage facilities, ensuring efficient inventory placement, accessibility, and safety. You will work hands-on with our storage systems, planning improvements, and maintaining accurate records to support our distribution operations. This is an on-site position requiring a proactive individual who can contribute to a smooth and efficient workflow in our fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient racking and bin storage solutions for various types of wine and spirits inventory.
  • Optimize cellar layout to maximize storage capacity and improve operational flow for picking and stocking.
  • Conduct regular audits of storage areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations and inventory teams to plan and execute inventory movements and re-slotting projects.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and schematics of cellar storage configurations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in storage equipment, technology, and processes.
  • Train warehouse staff on proper storage procedures and best practices for rack and bin utilization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, including space constraints and product damage prevention.
  • Ensure all storage activities adhere to company policies and industry regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Proven experience with cellar or warehouse storage planning, specifically with racks and bins systems.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks as required in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems for inventory management.
  • Certification in warehouse safety or material handling.
  • Knowledge of wine and spirits products and their specific storage requirements.
