Job Description
U.S. Steel is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Unskilled Factory Workers at our Gary Works facility. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for candidates with no prior experience to start a rewarding career in the steel industry. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting skilled workers and operators in various production tasks.
- Moving materials, equipment, and products manually or using basic machinery.
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas to ensure safety and organization.
- Loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
- Operating basic hand tools and power tools as instructed.
- Following all safety protocols and company policies.
- Inspecting products for basic quality defects.
- Performing general labor duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., construction, warehouse).
