Job Description

U.S. Steel is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Unskilled Factory Workers at our Gary Works facility. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for candidates with no prior experience to start a rewarding career in the steel industry. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting skilled workers and operators in various production tasks.
  • Moving materials, equipment, and products manually or using basic machinery.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas to ensure safety and organization.
  • Loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
  • Operating basic hand tools and power tools as instructed.
  • Following all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Inspecting products for basic quality defects.
  • Performing general labor duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
