Job Description

As a Hospital Porter with UPS, you will be an integral part of our client’s healthcare facility operations in Sunnyvale. This vital role involves the safe, efficient, and compassionate transportation of patients, medical equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital. You will work closely with medical staff to ensure timely movement, maintain a clean and organized environment, and uphold strict safety protocols. This position is perfect for an individual who is physically capable, possesses excellent communication skills, and is dedicated to supporting a high-quality patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely via wheelchairs, gurneys, or beds to various departments (e.g., imaging, surgery, rooms) and discharge areas.
  • Move medical equipment, laboratory specimens, pharmacy items, and supplies between departments as required.
  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment as needed.
  • Collect and transport waste, linens, and soiled equipment to designated areas, following infection control procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and storage areas.
  • Respond promptly to requests from nursing staff and other departments.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, safety regulations, and patient privacy (HIPAA) guidelines.
  • Provide compassionate and respectful interactions with patients and their families.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
