Job Description
Join SSE Renewables as a Wind Turbine Base Cleaner and play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and longevity of our wind farm assets. This physically demanding role involves travelling to various remote wind farm locations across Scotland to meticulously clean the exterior and interior bases of wind turbines. You will work as part of a dedicated team, ensuring our infrastructure remains in pristine condition, contributing directly to our mission of providing clean, renewable energy. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, a willingness to travel extensively, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely travel to and from remote wind farm locations as part of a cleaning team.
- Perform thorough cleaning of wind turbine bases, both interior and exterior, using specialized equipment and cleaning solutions.
- Inspect turbine bases for any visible defects, wear, or damage during cleaning and report findings to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Maintain and properly store cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Complete all necessary documentation and reports accurately and timely.
- Assist with other general site maintenance tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work at heights (training provided for turbine access).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Full UK driving license with the ability to travel extensively.
- Commitment to health and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor manual labor or industrial cleaning.
- Familiarity with remote site operations.
- Knowledge of basic safety protocols for working at heights or in industrial environments.
- First Aid certification.
