Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Woodwind Instructor specializing in Flute and Clarinet to join our New Port Richey team. This part-time position involves providing high-quality private and group lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced. The ideal candidate will have strong performance abilities on both flute and clarinet, a solid understanding of music theory, and a genuine desire to inspire and educate. You will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans, tracking student progress, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated musician-educator to share their expertise and contribute to our vibrant music community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert private and group instruction in flute and clarinet to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and examinations as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress and goals.
- Participate in instructor meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding scheduling, attendance, and student safety.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency and performance ability on both flute and clarinet.
- Proven experience in music instruction (formal or informal).
- Strong understanding of music theory, technique, and repertoire for woodwind instruments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching music.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of formal teaching experience in woodwind instruments.
- Experience with various age groups, particularly youth and adult learners.
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies (e.g., Suzuki, traditional).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
