Job Description
Are you eager to start a career in a hands-on, outdoor environment? Trans-Canada Signs is seeking a motivated and reliable Signage Installer Helper to join our Regina team. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with no prior experience in signage installation. We will provide all necessary training to help you develop valuable skills in the industry. As a Signage Installer Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting our experienced installation crew, ensuring the safe and efficient setup of various outdoor signs. This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the transportation, staging, and installation of various types of signs, including pylon signs, monument signs, wall signs, and channel letters.
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and ensuring a safe work area.
- Load and unload materials and tools from company vehicles.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under direct supervision.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures diligently.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the installation team.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous tasks.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of safety practices or willingness to learn quickly.
- A positive attitude and a team-player mentality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with basic hand tools and power tools (e.g., drills, wrenches) is a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or a physically demanding role.
