Job Description
We are looking for dedicated and efficient Cold Storage Pickers to join our team in Cicero. This crucial role involves working in a freezer environment to accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment. We offer premium freezer pay rates and provide all necessary cold-weather gear to ensure your comfort and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in a cold storage environment.
- Accurately pick, pack, and label customer orders according to specifications.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of temperature-sensitive products.
- Perform regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Inspect product for damage or defects and report issues immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently in temperatures as low as -10 to -20 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods.
- Comfortable operating manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift – certification a plus, but training provided).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended shifts.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or cold storage environment.
- Forklift certification (reach truck, stand-up, sit-down).
- Experience with inventory management systems (WMS).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
