Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and efficient High-Volume Audio Typist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing a significant volume of audio recordings into written documents on a daily basis. This position demands exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high productivity while ensuring accuracy. You will work within a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to the efficiency and accuracy of patient records and administrative documentation within our health system.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe a high volume of audio recordings accurately and efficiently into written reports, correspondence, and other documents.
- Ensure all transcriptions adhere to strict quality standards, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
- Manage and prioritize daily transcription workload to meet deadlines and departmental targets.
- Review and edit transcribed documents for clarity, completeness, and accuracy before final submission.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information, including patient data and proprietary company details.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and equipment effectively.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding workflow, potential issues, and completed tasks.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in audio typing/transcription with a high words per minute (WPM) rate and accuracy.
- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong listening skills and ability to discern various accents and audio qualities.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures (preferred, but not required).
- Proficiency with transcription software and office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Word).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in Medical Transcription or a related field.
- Previous experience in a high-volume transcription environment, preferably within healthcare.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
