Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a career where you learn a valuable trade and get paid weekly? DFS is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Furniture Fitter Mates to join our professional delivery and installation teams. As a Mate, you’ll travel alongside an experienced Lead Fitter, assisting with the delivery, assembly, and installation of our beautiful furniture in customer homes. This is an incredible opportunity to learn on the job, develop essential skills, and become an integral part of a customer-focused team. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals with a can-do attitude and a desire to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Fitter with the safe and efficient delivery and installation of furniture into customer homes.
- Help unpackage, assemble, and position furniture according to customer specifications and product guidelines.
- Ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Handle furniture with care to prevent damage during transit and installation.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area, both in the customer's home and the company vehicle.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, representing DFS's brand values.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy items safely.

Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their safe use.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role or physical work environment.
- Full UK driving license (desirable, but not essential for a mate position).
