Job Description
Join the CVS Health team as a Pharmacy Technician, specializing in our crucial evening and night shifts. In this vital role, you will work closely with our pharmacists to ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, provide exceptional patient care, and maintain pharmacy operations during non-standard hours. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in accurately and safely dispensing prescription medications.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry and insurance claim resolution.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain patient profiles and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
- Operate pharmacy systems and equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and company policies.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Prepare medication for delivery or pickup, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification in Iowa (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems
- Ability to work consistently scheduled evening and night shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA)
- Experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., RxConnect)
