Job Description
Join UPS as a Feeder Driver and become an integral part of our dynamic logistics network. This critical role involves transporting freight between UPS facilities, operating modern tractor-trailer equipment in a no-touch freight environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport freight between UPS hubs and other designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of hours of service, mileage, and cargo information.
- Manage time effectively to ensure on-time deliveries and adherence to scheduled routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding operational updates or delays.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle and personal presentation.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 2 years (24 months) of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Clean driving record with no history of serious moving violations, accidents, or DUI/DWI convictions in the past 3-5 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 pounds (though primary role is no-touch freight, general physical fitness is required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with no-touch freight operations
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement (H endorsement)
- Tanker endorsement (N endorsement)
- Experience operating double or triple trailers
