Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pasta Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our indoor food production team in New Braunfels, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining specialized machinery used in the production of various pasta products. Your focus will be on ensuring efficient operation, product quality, and adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and a commitment to producing high-quality food items in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor automated pasta manufacturing equipment, including mixers, extruders, dryers, and packaging machines.
- Perform routine checks to ensure machines are running at optimal performance and product quality meets specifications.
- Load raw materials (flour, water, eggs, etc.) into machines and monitor ingredient levels.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain product consistency and desired output.
- Conduct quality control checks on pasta products throughout the production process (e.g., texture, shape, color, moisture content).
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Follow all food safety (HACCP), sanitation (SSOP), and company safety guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to strict schedules and procedures.
- Record production data, including quantities produced, machine parameters, and any deviations or issues.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production schedules and processes.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating manufacturing machinery, preferably in a food production environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and safety protocols
- Attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a climate-controlled (often warm/humid) manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically with pasta manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMPs)
- Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks
- Experience with basic machine maintenance and preventative measures
