Job Description
Join Discord’s dedicated Trust & Safety team as an Online Moderator Junior, specifically focusing on creating a safe and positive online environment for our 14-year-old teen users. In this vital role, you will actively monitor user-generated content, investigate reported issues, and ensure compliance with Discord’s community guidelines. We are looking for an empathetic, observant, and responsible individual eager to contribute to a secure digital space for young people. Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor user activity and content across designated platforms to ensure compliance with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, with a specific focus on content involving 14-year-old teens.
- Investigate and resolve reported issues, including harassment, bullying, inappropriate content, and other safety concerns, within established service level agreements.
- Communicate effectively with users regarding moderation decisions, providing guidance and support in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Identify and escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior moderators or specialized safety teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation processes and tools by providing feedback and insights.
- Maintain detailed records of moderation actions and interactions, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Stay updated on evolving online safety trends and potential risks relevant to young users.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong understanding of online safety principles and youth protection.
- Ability to make sound judgments quickly and impartially in high-pressure situations.
- High level of empathy and emotional intelligence.
- Familiarity with online community platforms and tools.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate various software applications.
