Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Eco-Farm Picker to join our team at a sustainable organic farm located near Cults, Aberdeen. This role is crucial to our mission of delivering fresh, high-quality organic produce to our customers. As an Eco-Farm Picker, you will be responsible for the careful harvesting, sorting, and packing of a variety of organic crops, adhering strictly to our sustainable farming practices and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual harvesting of various organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs according to crop-specific guidelines.
- Inspect produce for quality, ripeness, and defects, ensuring only premium items are selected.
- Carefully pack harvested produce into appropriate containers, maintaining product integrity and presentation.
- Assist with field preparation, planting, weeding, and other general farm maintenance tasks as required.
- Adhere to strict organic farming standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Report any crop health issues, pest infestations, or equipment malfunctions to the farm supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with the farm team to achieve daily production targets and uphold sustainable practices.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, sun, cold).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality standards in produce.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural work, particularly in organic or sustainable farming.
- Knowledge of different crop types and harvesting techniques.
- A genuine passion for organic food, sustainability, and environmental conservation.
- Full UK driving license and access to own transportation (due to farm location).
