Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and professional Car Dealership Evaluator with a strong focus on service quality to join our thriving team in Virginia Beach. This role is crucial for maintaining our high standards for vehicle acquisition and trade-ins, ensuring fair and accurate valuations based on comprehensive inspections. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to professional service, contributing directly to our purchasing strategy and customer trust. A bonus structure is included for performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, including mechanical, cosmetic, and structural integrity, to determine their current condition and market value.
- Utilize industry-standard tools and software to research vehicle history reports, market trends, and pricing data.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports, documenting all findings, estimated repair costs, and recommended valuations.
- Communicate evaluation results clearly and professionally to sales teams, management, and customers, explaining the basis for valuations.
- Collaborate with sales and service departments to understand customer needs and dealership inventory requirements.
- Stay updated on automotive industry developments, vehicle technologies, and market dynamics to ensure accurate and competitive valuations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant automotive regulations and ethical standards.
- Identify opportunities for vehicle reconditioning and make recommendations to maximize profitability and appeal.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive evaluation, appraisals, or a related field within a dealership or independent appraisal setting.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanics, bodywork, and common automotive systems.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and appraisal software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent technical certifications.
- Experience with specific dealership inventory management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Familiarity with local Virginia Beach and regional automotive market trends.
