Job Description
Join Capital One as a Mailroom Sorter and become a vital part of our administrative operations in Norfolk, VA. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a smooth flow of communication within our office environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that important documents reach their intended recipients promptly and securely, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our local operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and distribute incoming mail, packages, and inter-office correspondence to appropriate departments and individuals.
- Process outgoing mail, including weighing, franking, and preparing for postal or courier services.
- Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring proper record-keeping.
- Operate mailroom equipment such as franking machines, scanners, and scales.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Assist with internal office moves and document archiving as needed.
- Ensure the mailroom is kept organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Adhere to all company policies and security protocols related to mail handling.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven reliability and punctuality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move mail bins and packages (up to 30 lbs).
- Basic computer proficiency for logging and tracking purposes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
