Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Turret Truck Operator with a strong focus on Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) operations to join our team at the Victorville fulfillment center. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating specialized VNA turret trucks to efficiently store, retrieve, and move products within our high-bay, narrow-aisle warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent spatial awareness, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workspace. This is an on-site position vital to our operational success, requiring precise handling of materials and adherence to all safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate VNA turret trucks safely and efficiently in very narrow aisles to pick, put away, and move inventory.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Scan and verify product accuracy using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Stack and retrieve pallets and individual items at various heights, often reaching elevated racks.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team leads and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating VNA Turret Trucks or similar high-reach material handling equipment.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and basic warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current certification for Turret Truck operation.
- Previous experience in a large-scale e-commerce or retail distribution center.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in a warehouse setting.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and system navigation.
