Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professionally presented Weekend Host / Hostess to join the dynamic team at Hilton Garden Inn Lincoln Downtown/Haymarket. As the first impression for our valued guests, you will be pivotal in cultivating a warm, inviting, and efficient dining experience. This part-time position is ideal for an individual with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to outstanding guest service, particularly available for weekend shifts. You will manage reservations, greet guests warmly, seat them efficiently, and ensure the dining area’s readiness, contributing significantly to our reputation for quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet all guests upon their arrival, making them feel immediately comfortable.
  • Efficiently manage the restaurant's reservation system and walk-in waitlist to ensure smooth and timely seating.
  • Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and introducing them to their server.
  • Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, handling inquiries and taking reservations accurately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the host stand, entrance area, and dining room.
  • Assist the service team with various tasks, such as setting up tables, refilling water glasses, or retrieving high chairs, to ensure seamless service flow.
  • Proactively address any guest concerns or special requests, escalating to management when necessary.

  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging positively with a diverse range of guests.
  • A professional and polished appearance suitable for a high-end hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

  • Physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a host/hostess, front desk, or customer service role within the hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with restaurant reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) or similar booking systems.
  • Basic knowledge of local attractions, dining options, and directions within Lincoln.
