Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Government Building Janitor to join our team in Colwyn Bay. This full-time position offers secure employment with Mitie Group plc, a trusted partner for public sector services. As a Janitor, you will be crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment within a key government facility. Your work will directly contribute to the well-being of building occupants and the smooth operation of public services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mooping, and polishing surfaces.
- Clean and sanitise restrooms and replenish supplies regularly.
- Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Maintain hard floor surfaces, including buffing and stripping when required.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or faulty equipment to the supervisor promptly.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and site-specific security protocols.
- Support special cleaning projects or events as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard, meeting client expectations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven reliability and punctuality
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic understanding of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment (or willingness to learn)
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
