Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Mobile Vaccination Nurse to join our community outreach team in the Lower East Side of New York City. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in delivering essential vaccination services directly to various communities, ensuring access to preventative care for all. This position requires a nurse who is comfortable working independently and as part of a small team in diverse settings, from community centers to mobile clinics. Key Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines safely and efficiently according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Conduct patient screenings, including medical history review and vital sign assessment, to ensure vaccine eligibility and safety.
- Provide clear and concise patient education regarding vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all vaccinations administered, patient information, and consent forms.
- Manage and maintain vaccine inventory, ensuring proper storage, handling, and temperature monitoring.
- Participate in community outreach efforts to promote vaccination programs and engage with diverse populations.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, community leaders, and other healthcare professionals.
- Prepare and maintain a clean and organized mobile clinic environment.
- Respond to and manage potential adverse reactions to vaccines, escalating as necessary.
Required Skills
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments
- Proficiency in administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
- Knowledge of vaccine administration guidelines and protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in community health or public health settings
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese)
