Job Description
We are actively seeking diligent and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Freight Taggers at our New Port Richey facility. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately identifying, categorizing, and tagging incoming and outgoing freight to ensure proper routing and inventory management. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately identify and verify freight details against shipping manifests and invoices.
- Apply appropriate tags and labels to freight items according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Scan freight into the inventory system, ensuring data accuracy and real-time tracking.
- Organize and sort freight into designated areas for staging and loading.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or missing freight to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and timely freight flow.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand shipping labels and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and scanning.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry freight up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or freight handling role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
