Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Shuttle Driver for short-haul routes based out of our Greensboro, NC facility. This is a full-time position with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, allowing for predictable weekends off. As a FedEx Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight and packages between FedEx facilities within a defined regional area. This role requires adherence to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and the ability to operate commercial motor vehicles with care and professionalism. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) for short-haul, inter-facility transfers of freight and packages.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and accounted for before and after transportation.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, vehicle records, and delivery documentation.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations staff, and other team members.
- Represent FedEx professionally to internal and external contacts.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and ELD compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience with short-haul or shuttle driving routes
- Knowledge of local Greensboro and North Carolina road networks
- Forklift operation certification or experience
