Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic After School Nanny to provide exceptional care for a family in a local suburb of Coventry. This vital role involves collecting children from school, bringing them home, and engaging them in stimulating activities until parents return. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, warm, and responsible individual with a genuine passion for childcare and a commitment to creating a positive and safe after-school experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely collect children from school at a designated time and transport them home (walking or public transport, depending on proximity).
- Prepare healthy snacks and light meals for the children.
- Assist with homework and school projects, providing encouragement and support.
- Organise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, including creative play, outdoor adventures, and educational games.
- Maintain a tidy and organised children's area.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding the children's day and any relevant updates.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in childcare (nannying, babysitting, teaching assistant, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organised
- A genuine love for working with children
- Ability to plan and execute engaging activities
- Strong understanding of child safety and development
- Right to work in the UK
Preferred Qualifications
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Paediatric First Aid certification
- Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Childcare, CACHE Level 3)
- Previous experience as an After School Nanny
- Local knowledge of Coventry suburbs
