Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Brewing Chemist to join our dynamic team in Pasco, Washington. This role is crucial for maintaining the superior quality and consistency of our diverse beverage portfolio, with a strong emphasis on beverage science and innovation. You will be instrumental in all stages of the brewing and production process, from raw material analysis to finished product evaluation, ensuring adherence to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine chemical and physical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, chromatographs (GC/HPLC), and other analytical instruments.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and interpret results to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods and procedures as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues, collaborating with production and quality assurance teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of all analyses, experiments, and observations.
  • Contribute to research and development projects aimed at improving product quality, stability, and introducing new beverage concepts.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and quality management systems (e.g., ISO, HACCP).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a fun, collaborative work environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in various analytical techniques, including spectroscopy, chromatography, and wet chemistry methods.
  • Strong understanding of chemical principles and their application in quality control and product development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Direct experience in brewing or beverage production chemistry.
  • Knowledge of sensory analysis principles and practices.
  • Experience with fermentation science and microbiology.
  • Understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or HACCP.
