Job Description
Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Restaurant Dish Scraper in our high-volume Joliet location. This essential role is critical to maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations, ensuring our culinary team has the necessary tools to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will be responsible for the speedy and thorough cleaning of all kitchenware, plates, and utensils, contributing directly to our restaurant’s smooth flow and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities
- Scrape food from dishes, pots, pans, and utensils before loading into dishwashing machines.
- Operate and maintain industrial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Hand wash specific items that cannot be machine washed, such as delicate kitchen tools or large pots.
- Organize and stack cleaned dishes, glassware, and cutlery in designated storage areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including floors, sinks, and work surfaces.
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks as needed, including sweeping and mopping.
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and serving staff to ensure a continuous flow of clean items.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role is a plus, but not required.
