Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional Private Nanny to join our family in North York, Toronto. This full-time, on-site role is central to our children’s daily routine, with a strong emphasis on school pick-ups and afternoon activities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, a proactive attitude, and excellent organizational skills. You will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, supporting their educational development, and managing their after-school schedule. While based in Toronto, our family has roots in Montreal, and we appreciate a candidate who understands the value of cultural engagement and a structured yet warm approach to childcare. This position requires someone who can commit long-term and integrate seamlessly into our family life, upholding our values of respect, responsibility, and kindness.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from school daily and transport them to home or scheduled activities.
- Plan and engage children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Assist with homework, reading, and school projects.
- Prepare healthy snacks and occasional light meals for the children.
- Organize children's rooms, toys, and belongings, ensuring a tidy environment.
- Coordinate and manage children's activity schedules (sports, music lessons, playdates).
- Communicate regularly and openly with parents regarding children's progress and daily events.
- Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times.
- Run occasional errands related to children's needs.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional nanny or childcare experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with school-aged children (6-12 years).
- Fluency in French (given the Montreal focus).
- Ability to assist with light housekeeping pertaining to children's areas.
- Experience with educational support and development.
