Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Lift Forklift Driver to join our industrial site operations in Pearland, Texas. This role is critical for the efficient and safe movement of heavy materials, equipment, and components within our demanding industrial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating large-capacity forklifts, ensuring precise placement and adherence to all safety protocols and project timelines. This is an on-site position requiring strong attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy lift forklifts (e.g., up to 30,000 lbs capacity) to transport materials, equipment, and finished products across industrial sites.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections (PTI) of forklifts and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Load and unload trucks, flatbeds, and other transport vehicles with various heavy items.
  • Stack and unstack materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and stability.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other site personnel regarding material movement and project needs.
  • Assist with general labor duties as required, contributing to overall site efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate logs of material movement and equipment operation.
  • Perform minor routine maintenance and cleaning of the forklift as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience operating heavy lift forklifts (e.g., capacities of 15,000 lbs or more).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Forklift operator certification for heavy lift equipment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, warning labels, and operating manuals.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or oil & gas environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for forklift troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of material handling best practices.
