Job Description

The Madison Square Garden Company is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Student Event Marshalls to join our dynamic team, focusing on stadium and arena operations. This role is perfect for students looking to gain invaluable experience in live event management, crowd control, and guest services within world-class venues. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and smooth flow of events, working directly with patrons and event staff to uphold our high standards of hospitality and security. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and direction to event attendees.
  • Monitor assigned areas to ensure safety and security of all patrons.
  • Assist with crowd control and maintain orderly flow of guests during entry, exit, and intermissions.
  • Enforce venue policies and procedures, including ticket verification and prohibited items.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, resolve minor issues, and escalate significant concerns to supervisors.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations, as directed by event management.
  • Work collaboratively with security, ushers, and other event staff.
  • Complete pre-event and post-event checks of assigned areas.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per event schedules.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or event support.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid or CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with large venue operations or sports/entertainment events.
