Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in the healthcare industry? Walgreens is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual for an Entry Level Pharmacy Assistant position. No prior pharmacy experience is required! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a high school diploma eager to learn and grow within a supportive environment. You will play a crucial role in assisting our pharmacists and ensuring our customers receive excellent care and service. We’re looking for someone who can start ASAP and is ready to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling prescriptions.
- Maintain patient profiles and assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves and ordering supplies.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash register transactions accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Manage prescription refills and communicate with healthcare providers as needed under pharmacist supervision.
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion and privacy.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED (mandatory as per job title)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any retail or service setting
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus
