Job Description
Comcast is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Software Documentation Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this flexible writing role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and updating various software documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all internal and external materials. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading technical documentation, user manuals, release notes, and online help content for software products.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established style guides, templates, and company standards.
- Collaborate with software development, quality assurance, and product management teams to gather necessary information.
- Organize and maintain a centralized repository of documentation, ensuring easy accessibility and version control.
- Perform regular reviews and updates of existing documentation to reflect software changes and improvements.
- Identify areas for documentation improvement and suggest proactive solutions.
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding documentation content.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to learn new software and technical concepts quickly.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle or technical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, MadCap Flare).
- Familiarity with style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Microsoft Manual of Style).
- Prior experience in a remote work setting.
