Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Library Receptionist to join our team in Katy, TX. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a quiet, organized environment and possess a strong commitment to customer service. The Library Receptionist is the first point of contact for patrons, providing essential administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to perform tasks with precision and focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patrons warmly, answer inquiries, and direct them to appropriate resources or staff members.
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and mail with professionalism and efficiency.
- Assist patrons with library card registration, renewals, and account inquiries.
- Process materials, including check-ins, check-outs, and holds, using the library's circulation system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and common spaces.
- Schedule meeting rooms and public access computers, ensuring proper usage guidelines are followed.
- Provide basic technical assistance for library equipment such as printers, scanners, and public computers.
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and preparing correspondence.
- Enforce library policies and procedures respectfully to maintain a quiet and conducive environment.
- Collaborate with other library staff to support programs and events.
Required Skills
