Job Description
Join the Otis Elevator Company team as an Elevator / Escalator Modernization Helper! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in a skilled trade. You will work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with the modernization, repair, and maintenance of elevator and escalator systems. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled technicians in the modernization, repair, and maintenance of elevator and escalator systems.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving tools and equipment.
- Learn and apply basic electrical and mechanical principles under supervision.
- Help ensure a clean and safe work environment at all job sites.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies diligently.
- Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Support the installation of new components and removal of old equipment during modernization projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Strong willingness to learn a skilled trade.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction, manufacturing, or mechanical helper role.
