Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate MRI / CT Radiologic Technologist to join our dynamic Radiology Department at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of MRI and CT scans, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and diagnostic image quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI and CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining protocols and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and images in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and assess patient condition during procedures, responding to any changes or emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in MRI and CT imaging techniques.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and and critical thinking abilities.
  • Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC for UK or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiography or a related field.
  • Experience with specific MRI/CT scanner models (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
  • Advanced certification in MRI or CT.
  • Experience working in a UK NHS environment.
