Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate MRI / CT Radiologic Technologist to join our dynamic Radiology Department at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of MRI and CT scans, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and diagnostic image quality. Key Responsibilities
- Operate MRI and CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining protocols and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records and images in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and assess patient condition during procedures, responding to any changes or emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform quality control checks on equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in MRI and CT imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and and critical thinking abilities.
- Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC for UK or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiography or a related field.
- Experience with specific MRI/CT scanner models (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
- Advanced certification in MRI or CT.
- Experience working in a UK NHS environment.
